Cookie Policy
Every cookie this site sets, what it does and how to change your choice.
Last reviewed 5 October 2026.
The short version
This site sets strictly necessary cookies, plus Google Analytics cookies if you allow analytics. We do not run advertising cookies, and we do not share cookie data with advertising networks. Analytics cookies are switched off unless you turn them on, and nothing non-essential is set before you choose.
Cookies we set
| Cookie | Category | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
ett_consent | Strictly necessary | Records the cookie choice you made in the banner, so we do not ask again on every page and so non-essential cookies stay off until you allow them. | 180 days |
ett_region | Strictly necessary | Records which regional edition of the site to show you — spelling, terminology and the compliance framework named in our notices. Set from your approximate country on your first visit, and changed whenever you use the region switcher. | 365 days |
sb-* (Supabase authentication) | Strictly necessary | Keeps an ETT administrator signed in to the private admin area at /admin. These are never set for public visitors. | Session, until sign-out |
_ga | Analytics (only with your consent) | Set by Google Analytics to tell one browser's visits apart, so we can count visitors and see which pages and calls to action are used. Not set unless you allow analytics. | 2 years |
_ga_ZQX40D4YWM | Analytics (only with your consent) | Set by Google Analytics to keep track of the current visit (session) on this site. Not set unless you allow analytics. | 2 years |
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, how people arrive and which calls to action they use. We use it with Google Consent Mode, which keeps analytics storage switched off until you allow analytics in the banner. While you leave analytics off, no analytics cookie is set and nothing is stored on your device. Google Analytics still receives a basic, cookieless signal for each page view: that a page was viewed, with your browser type and your IP address, but no cookie or identifier that could link one visit to another. Google uses these signals only to estimate overall traffic.
When it is on, Google receives your IP address, which Google Analytics uses to estimate your general location and does not store, along with your browser and device type, the pages you view and the events listed in our code, such as clicking a main call to action or completing a step of the assessment. We never send it your name, email address or anything you type into a form. Google advertising features and ad personalisation are switched off. If you withdraw consent, analytics storage is switched off again, the _ga cookies are deleted and only the cookieless signal described above is sent. Google’s own use of this data is described in its explanation of how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Other storage
The automation readiness assessment keeps your answers in your browser’s own storage while you work through it, so you do not lose progress if you navigate away. That is not a cookie and it is never sent to us unless you ask for the report. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Bot protection
Our forms are protected by Vercel BotID, which checks that a submission came from a real browser session on this site. It works from request signals and does not set a tracking cookie or build a profile of you across other websites.
Changing your choice
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using in the footer of any page. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings — see the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the site working as intended.
